Oakhill Hotel

We recently attended a friend’s Birthday party here and stayed overnight. The whole event was organised to perfection and the food was amazing. The room was stunning and everything we could have wished for The breakfast in the morning was delicious. The events coordinator who helped my friend organise her party was so lovely and helpful. I would definitely use this venue if I have any upcoming events. Thank you to all the staff at Oakhill. You are amazing!

We had an amazing time staying here for a friends wedding for a couple of nights. The hotels location is great, only a short stroll into Cromford, but set in its own beautiful grounds. The room was perfect - comfortable bed and great views of the surrounding countryside. The friendly staff ensured the entire weekend was truly special. We will definitely return.

My wife and I (and dog, Martha) were visiting the Matlock area today as it was our 24th wedding anniversary. We needed to find somewhere for an early dinner, the stipulation being that they needed to guarantee proper gluten free food as one of us is coeliac. Not the dog! We chose a ribeye steak, and a lamb shank. When they arrived we were pretty gobsmacked - the portions were HUGE! All of the food was just beautiful, very well cooked, hot and tasty. Martha liked the bits we gave to her, too. Obviously! Thanks to all the staff for your conversation and attention. Martha sends her thanks for the biscuits

I had the absolute pleasure of staying here for a couple of days for a special birthday party gathering. We took over the whole hotel which was superbly organised by the events manager, who took great detail beforehand of what was needed and listened to all our requirements. The night entertainment was fabulous and the food was incredible! The next day we relaxed in the beautiful grounds and ate more of the delicious food, which was all freshly prepared and the chef actually came to check personally with each guest that everything was okay. This is a perfect venue for a special occasion or if you want a get together with friends, but my next stay will be with my little dog in a bespoke very spacious Annex in the grounds. Almost forgot to mention the rooms - HUGE!!! The roll top bath was a must and waking up to bird song was just lovely. Definitely recommend, especially for a weekend chill. Cromford Mill is with walking distance too if you fancy a little bit of browsing.

Recently stayed at Oakhill Hotel in Cromford and had a fabulous break. Everyone was so helpful especially the events coordinator, all the staff couldn't do enough for us. We have a big family party later this year and are definitely considering having the event at Oakhill as it would be fabulous to have all the family stay together. Thank you for a great stay

I had an absolutely brilliant stay and meal at Oakhill. From arrival through to checkout, the staff were fantastic and a real credit to the place. I dined with friends and again, another great experience. The portion size was huge and clearly quality ingredients. The service was prompt and was excellent value for money. My steak was cooked exactly how I like it, perfection. My room was in a converted garage which was really authentic and a lovely, spacious room. My only complaint, and it's minor, I'd have liked a Nespresso machine in the room rather than instant coffee. Other than that, absolutely on point. Breakfast was a little slow, but not excessively. Staff were attentive and friendly, despite being run off their feet. The food was really good. I opted for a small breakfast which was still substantial. As with our meal, great quality ingredients. A really enjoyable stay, we'll all be coming back, really glad we stayed

Oakhill is a very special place filled with staff who really care! We have been very privileged to have had the opportunity to use this stunning venue for several events and we will always return in the future. Oakhill is nestled in the derbyshire dales, surrounded by well manicured gorgeous gardens (they even have a walled garden….which is perfect for wedding photos ). The rooms are super comfortable & all have individual style. You can tell that Oakhill is family owed & managed by the care and attention to detail, all of the staff excel in their roles, nothing is to much trouble, which is lovely as a guest, because you can just relax we particularly love their delicious Sunday roast! We would like to thank you all so much for making us always feel so so welcome xx

Had a wonderful party at Oak Hill and everything was organised to perfection with help of the events coordinator who was amazing. The food was gorgeous and we booked all the rooms for ourselves family and friends. The rooms were gorgeous and exceptionally clean. We had a beautifully cooked breakfast the next morning. All in all one of the best stays ever and a party to remember and will definitely be back. A big thank you to all the staff at Oak Hill.
